Life Cover

Who can apply for life cover?

Any Namibian resident between 18 and 60 years of age. Group cover may extend the age range for employer schemes.

What is the maximum life cover amount?

The maximum sum assured is generally up to 3× your annual salary. Group schemes may have different limits. Speak to an adviser for a tailored quote.

How long does underwriting take?

Most applications are underwritten within 2–5 business days following receipt of all required documentation.

Can I add riders to my life policy?

Yes. Disability and Critical Illness riders are available on most life cover products.

Funeral Cover

How quickly is a funeral claim paid?

Approved funeral claims are paid within 48 hours of receiving a complete file — death certificate, certified ID copy, and banking proof no older than 3 months.

What is the notification period for funeral claims?

You must notify Namforce within 180 days of the death. Claims notified outside this window may not be honoured.

Can I cover my extended family?

Yes. Funeral cover can extend to your spouse, children, and other dependants. The premium and sum assured vary by plan.

Disability Plan

What qualifies as a disability under the plan?

A disability is a physical or mental condition that prevents you from performing your own occupation for a defined period. The specific definition is set out in your policy schedule.

Is disability cover the same as critical illness cover?

No. Disability cover replaces income when you cannot work. Critical illness cover pays a lump sum on diagnosis of a listed condition. Both are available as separate products or riders.

What is the claim notification period for disability?

For Credit Life disability claims, notify within 3 months of the disabling event. For standalone disability plans, refer to your policy schedule.

Credit Life

What does Credit Life protect?

Credit Life Protection clears your outstanding loan balance if you die or become permanently disabled, protecting your family from inheriting your debt.

Does Credit Life cover all types of loans?

It covers most personal loans, vehicle finance, and home loans. The specific loan types covered are listed in your policy schedule.

What is the claim notification period for a death under Credit Life?

You must notify within 6 months of the date of death. For disability, the period is 3 months from the disabling event.

Savings & Investments

What is the minimum investment amount?

Minimum contribution amounts vary by product. Speak to an adviser for current limits and the best product for your savings goal.

How do I withdraw from my investment account?

Download the Withdrawal Form from the Document Centre, complete it, and submit to claims@namforce.com.na or visit Millennium House.

NDF & NCS Group Scheme

Are NDF and NCS members automatically covered?

Members enrolled in the group scheme receive cover automatically through their employer arrangement. Contact your HR department or Namforce for your specific policy details.

How does a family member submit a claim for an NDF/NCS member?

The process is the same as for individual policyholders — notify Namforce as soon as possible, gather the required documents, and submit via the claim form or by calling the Windhoek branch.

Claims

What documents do I need to submit a claim?

Most claims require a certified death certificate or medical report, a certified ID copy of the claimant and the insured, banking confirmation proof no older than 3 months, and the completed claim form for the relevant product.

Can I save a claim form and come back later?

Yes. The online claim form supports save & resume — enter your email address at Step 0 and we'll send you a link to continue from where you left off.

What happens after I submit a claim?

A Namforce team member will call within 24 hours to confirm all documents received and advise if anything is outstanding. Approved funeral and death claims are paid within 48 hours of a complete file.

Premiums

What happens if I miss a premium payment?

A missed premium may result in a lapse in cover. Contact Namforce immediately if you anticipate a missed payment — we may be able to assist with a short grace period depending on your policy.

How are premiums collected?

Premiums are collected monthly by debit order or stop order from your bank account.
